FRW Studios was asked to conceptualize a marketing campaign for the Japanese-based large formatprinting company, Roland DG. The concept was a worldwide contest to incentivize customers to demo a Roland printer. The grand prize of the contest was an African Safari vacation. Our task was to create the visuals for this contest and provide a comprehensive set of materials for each regional marketing team to use to promote the contest. Because of language and cultural differences, we needed the imagery to be clear and obvious. We chose the giraffe head as a quickly recognizable icon of Africa. After much research into the textures and patterns of the region, we were able to fit these pieces together to represent the “Discover Roland, Discover Africa” theme.
